A number of IEDs functioned between 25 – 30 Nov in Kaski district of Nepal as the country prepared for by-elections on 30 Nov.
The majority of devices functioned in the early hours on election day at schools being used as polling stations. Given the times at which the devices functioned, as well as the lack of recorded injuries at the schools, it is suspected the devices were intended to provoke fear as opposed to inflict casualties.
